Thanksgiving Cabin

A long farmhouse table is laid for dinner by candlelight, with a roast turkey, pumpkin pie and plaid napkins, while a fire glows in the stone fireplace beneath a mantel of autumn leaves, pumpkins and wheat. Outside, blue twilight settles over snowy evergreens and distant hills, and light snow drifts past the windows.

A small acoustic jazz trio plays throughout: a warm, memorable piano melody over rounded upright bass and whisper-soft brushed drums, with an easy, unhurried swing and plenty of space. It sits gently alongside the crackle of the fire, quiet company for reading, working or cooking.

Thanksgiving Cabin is the hour before everyone sits down: the table set, the candles lit, the first snow of the year coming down outside the log walls. Put it on while the turkey roasts, for a slow holiday weekend, or any late-November evening that calls for somewhere warm.
